Original storyboard

Image
Initially it was going to be a printed story however starting off landscape and swivelling to portrait was confusing and even though my audience did it they then second guessed everything in the book from then on, not knowing if you were meant to keep turning the pages. That idea was scrapped. Also when it came to building suspense and figuring out the readability of the end there needed to be some serious editing but with some snipping up and reorganising everything fell into place. Had to lose some images that I liked but weren't helping the story in any way. Tis the way of the project.

Final Piece - TUB

THIS IS THE FINAL PIECE To be suitable for this blog it has had to be chopped up and uploaded as 6 individual images, it is also published on issuu ( https://issuu.com/gomunro/docs/higher ) however the website is not the ideal format for scrolldown comics. Please refer to the USB in my submissions box for the absolutely correct version.

Illustrator experiments

I explored using illustrator for my final piece as it had strong graphic and simplifying qualities that could lend themselves well to my project. On top of this a previous illustrator workshop had gone well for me so the signs were pointing me towards this software. As this was a city falling to pieces and rusty I then attempted adding some rusty textures Illustrator proved to be a software ill adapted to what I was trying to do. My drawings were losing their dynamism and no amount of texture or sun flare could bring them back into something worth spending time looking at. As well as this I had to consider time. I went to Berlin and wanted to know that I would have time to produce my illustrations if I used this software. Simply making this city took me 4 days which was about 3 and a half too many if I wanted to complete all my illustrations in ti...
